Generally, the load capacity shown in Firestone’s tables increases with inflation pressure, but only within the limits specified for the particular tire size and load rating. Tire pressure should not be increased beyond the manufacturer’s specifications to increase load capacity.
S (Single) refers to a tire used individually on an axle end, while D (Dual) refers to tires installed as a dual assembly. The load capacity differs between the two configurations, so the appropriate column must be used when selecting inflation pressure.
A single tire size can be available with different load and speed ratings, such as 154/150 or 156/150. These specifications can provide different load capacities and operating limits. The tire’s actual sidewall marking should always be matched to the corresponding load and inflation data.
