There is no universal 10R22.5 tire pressure. Current manufacturer specifications show Load Range F, G and H versions of this size, with maximum cold pressures ranging from 100 to 130 psi. The correct setting depends on the exact tire, actual axle load, single or dual fitment, and the limits of the wheel and vehicle.
This guide separates those configurations and retains the published load steps without inventing intermediate PSI values. Always treat pressure in a load table as the minimum cold pressure required for the stated load, not as a target based only on tire size.
10R22.5 maximum-load specifications by product
| Manufacturer example | Rating | Single maximum | Dual maximum | Published cold pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bridgestone R268 Ecopia | Load Range F | 2,360 kg (5,205 lb) | 2,240 kg (4,940 lb) | 690 kPa (100 psi) |
| Bridgestone R268 Ecopia | Load Range G | 2,575 kg (5,675 lb) | 2,430 kg (5,355 lb) | 790 kPa (115 psi) |
| Westlake example | Load Range H, 16PR, 144/142M | 2,800 kg (6,175 lb) | 2,650 kg (5,840 lb) | 900 kPa (130 psi) |
The H-rated example also carries a different service description: 144/142M. Load index 144 applies to single fitment, 142 to dual fitment, and M is the speed symbol for 130 km/h. A fleet must verify all three parts rather than reading “10R22.5” alone.
10R22.5 load and inflation reference
The following Firestone reference shows how load capacity rises with cold pressure. The values are per tire and the single and dual columns must remain separate.
| Cold pressure | Single load per tire | Dual load per tire |
|---|---|---|
| 85 psi | 1,850 kg | 1,750 kg |
| 90 psi | 1,940 kg | 1,830 kg |
| 95 psi | 2,030 kg | 1,910 kg |
| 100 psi | 2,120 kg | 2,000 kg |
| 105 psi | 2,200 kg | 2,080 kg |
| 110 psi | 2,280 kg | 2,160 kg |
| 115 psi | 2,360 kg | 2,240 kg |
| 120 psi | 2,430 kg | 2,300 kg |
| 125 psi | 2,500 kg | 2,360 kg |
| 130 psi | 2,575 kg | 2,430 kg |
These rows illustrate an important product-specific caveat. Bridgestone’s current R268 Load Range F product reaches its listed maximum at 100 psi, while the generic Firestone table continues through higher pressures and load levels. Do not continue up a table beyond the maximum pressure or load stamped for the installed tire.
Example axle calculations
| Fitment example | Calculation | Capacity represented |
|---|---|---|
| Two-tire single axle at 2,360 kg per tire | 2 × 2,360 kg | 4,720 kg |
| Four-tire dual axle at 2,240 kg per tire | 4 × 2,240 kg | 8,960 kg |
| Four-tire LR H dual axle at 2,650 kg per tire | 4 × 2,650 kg | 10,600 kg |

How to select the operating pressure
- Read the sidewall for load range, service description, maximum load and pressure.
- Weigh the vehicle in its normal loaded condition, preferably by wheel position.
- Use the heaviest wheel position on each axle and the approved single or dual column.
- Select a published cold pressure that carries at least the measured load; do not interpolate missing values.
- Use the same cold pressure across an axle and respect the lowest-rated tire, rim, wheel, valve and vehicle component.
For the meaning of load index and speed symbols, consult our truck tire sidewall markings guide. Compare the neighboring imperial sizes in the published 11R22.5 tire pressure guide and 12R22.5 tire pressure guide. Fleets should incorporate the final settings into a documented pressure management program.
Technical caveats
- Check and adjust pressure when tires are cold.
- Never bleed a hot tire to restore its cold setting.
- Dual tires must be matched for size, construction, tread depth and inflation.
- A pressure table does not authorize operation above the tire or rim maximum.
- Regional, trailer and mixed-service patterns can have different duty and speed limits.
- Recheck pressure targets whenever the load, route, body or tire specification changes.
10R22.5 tire pressure FAQ
The correct cold pressure depends on actual load and the exact tire. Manufacturer examples range from a Load Range F maximum at 100 psi to a Load Range H maximum at 130 psi, so tire size alone is insufficient.
It may be the maximum-load pressure for a specific Load Range G product such as the Bridgestone R268, but it is not universal. Confirm the exact casing and measured load.
One published Bridgestone Load Range G specification carries 2,575 kg or 5,675 lb single and 2,430 kg or 5,355 lb dual per tire at its listed maximum pressure.
No. They have different load and pressure limits, and individual products may use different endpoints even within the same size. Follow the sidewall and product-specific table.
Use the single column when one tire is fitted at each end of the axle and the dual column when two tires are paired at each end. Never derive a dual rating from the single column.
