Big-Spending Customer Finalizes Purchase of More Than 111 VinFast Electric Buses in Vietnam

The company owned by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong continues to make its mark on the journey to green urban transport as a public transport operator confirms it will convert all 111 of its active buses to VinFast electric buses this December.

On the morning of December 4, Lien Ninh Transport and Services Joint Stock Company, a business operating buses in Hanoi, announced that it will convert 100% of its existing fleet to electric buses within December 2025. This decision makes Lien Ninh one of the pioneer units contributing to bringing Hanoi closer to its goal of zero-emission public transportation.

According to the plan, 111 smart VinFast electric buses will be allocated to all 9 routes currently operated by Lien Ninh, including: 08A, 08B, 09A, 09B, 19, 21A, 21B, 37, and 125. This simultaneous replacement promises to bring a new look to the passenger transport network in southern and southwestern Hanoi.

To ensure seamless operation of the all-electric fleet, Lien Ninh has proactively invested in 40 charging pillars at depots and terminal stations, enabling convenient and uninterrupted vehicle charging.

The new batch of VinFast buses sold to Lien Ninh includes 26 large EB10 buses, 72 medium-sized EB8 buses, and 13 small EB6 buses. All feature low-floor designs, providing optimal support for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities. Each bus is equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, information displays, automatic stop announcements, security cameras, and a suite of VinFast driver-assistance technologies such as collision warnings and lane monitoring—setting a new standard for service quality and passenger experience.

Mr. Doan Van Phan, Director of Lien Ninh, said that the shift to electric buses is a “strategic decision,” aimed not only at upgrading the fleet but also at establishing a new standard of transport—cleaner, safer, and more stable. The company affirmed it will continue to pursue the green transition as part of its long-term development direction.

Representative of the capital city government, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, praised the efforts of Lien Ninh as well as the cooperation of VinFast, V-Green, and the Vingroup ecosystem during the transition process. According to him, this cooperation model will create an important foundation to help Hanoi accelerate the green transformation of its public transport system.

This decision marks a significant step forward for Hanoi’s passenger transport industry, helping the city become the leading locality in the country in greening public transportation. In addition, other major businesses in the capital have also been gradually introducing electric vehicles to replace internal combustion engines, contributing to emissions reduction and improving the quality of life for Hanoi residents.
